How long does upholstery take to dry?

Most upholstery is dry to sit on within 4–8 hours; heavier fabrics with underpadding can take up to 24 hours. Turn on ceiling fans or point a floor fan across the piece to accelerate dry-back. Skip decorative pillows and throws until the piece is fully dry so they don't wick moisture back into the fabric.
