A professional credential from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, indicating a technician or firm is trained to a published industry standard for cleaning and restoration work.

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification — IICRC — is the non-profit standards body that publishes the consensus technical standards professional cleaners work from. IICRC S100 covers carpet cleaning; IICRC S300 covers upholstery; IICRC S500 covers water damage restoration; and additional standards cover related trades. Each is developed under ANSI-accredited procedures, which means the standards are reviewed by a balanced committee of manufacturers, cleaners, insurers, and other stakeholders — not authored by any single company.
IICRC certification is granted to individual technicians who complete accredited coursework and pass the exam for a specific category. Firms can also be listed as IICRC-Certified Firms when they employ certified technicians and agree to consumer-facing standards for insurance, communication, and complaint handling. Certification is a signal that the work follows the published standards rather than improvised procedures — and it is often referenced in carpet manufacturer warranty language as a prerequisite for warranty compliance.
Vapura plans to hold IICRC technician certification in the categories most relevant to residential and commercial cleaning work. Where an IICRC standard applies to a service Vapura performs — carpet, upholstery, water damage — that standard is the reference source used to design the process, not any single manufacturer's marketing.
